The Breast Surgical Oncology (BSO) Training Committee upholds the quality and integrity of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program and helps to ensure that the fellowship program training requirements and curriculum reflects the evolving landscape of breast surgery and designed to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded educational foundation for the Fellows.

SSO also plays an integral role in the Complex Surgical Oncology (CGSO) Fellowship program by overseeing CGSO Program Directors and providing guidance through representation on the American Board of Surgery and their CGSO Board.

The Society of Surgical Oncology is pleased to report that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Directors has approved the program requirements for Complex General Surgical Oncology.
